This weekend, an event occurred that was actually a positive thing for once. watched the royal wedding. This surprisingly turned out to be an interesting event. I noticed many unusual things about the ceremony. One of the first things I noticed was that she walked herself halfway to the beama before the father of Prince Harry walked her the rest of the way. This was very interesting as it seemed a combination of multiple traditions. Her father didnt walkk her as he had some heart conditions.
This past year in Mr. Starace's Critical Thinking Class we have watched three films: The Persuaders, Merchants of Cool and Missrepresentation. These films clearly portrayed the same thing: media's effect on everyone. In the documentary Missrepresentation, we were shown how media breaks through the barriers we have put up in order to try to block out most of the media we have today. They use violence and over sexualize nearly everything we watch in order to get us to absorb what were watching. This past weekend I was watching the trailer for the movie Deadpool 2. While the movie may have been incredibly explicit and rated R for a multitude of reasons, I noticed some things in the movie that I can relate to this movie. In the one scene of her shown in the trailer she was seen sitting at home as a housewife waiting for Deadpool to get home. She is seen as this impatient, annoying housewife who is not doing anything. I agree that it was a subjective positive event. But I do not understand America’s infatuation with the royal family. We split from England so that we could get away the monarchy but here we are obsessed with what happens over there.
